ABSTRACT Communication technologies have generated a new mixed bag of literacy which puts the standard of compose among technology adopters at stake. Short mental object Service (SMS) voice communication is one example which dissipates the link for maintaining a certain aim of standard in scripted communication. In the present study, 80 e-mails and SMSes from university students were analyzed. To visualize how the adoption of SMS nomenclature affects theme among its adopters, analyses were made on the semantic and syntactic aspects of the e-mails. Traces of push of SMS o n the standard of indite among the participants were also examined from several some other aspects. The findings suggest that the degree of innocent(predicate) use of SMS language in writing among university students might filter a deplorable state if no eye is unbroken on it. 1.
